Sioux City to add 11 stop light cameras
SIOUX CITY, Iowa Motorists in Sioux City may want to exhibit a little more discretion when they approach a yellow light in the future. Starting next spring, cameras will be installed at eleven of the city's intersections. They will be designed to catch motorists who are running red lights. The City Council held a special meeting this week to approve a contract with RedFlex Traffic Systems of Scottsdale, Arizona. The company will install and operate the red light-violation cameras. A handful of large and medium-sized Iowa cities have installed stoplight cameras with varying degrees of success. Copyright 2006 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
